We finally got the call we've been waiting for - our baby was on her way. Here is her nursery all ready and waiting. Doesn't the Kumari Garden look wonderful for the curtains?
Here is her new quilt waiting for her. It looked perfect on the chair, just as I'd hoped.
And here she is, barely 12 hours old. After an emergency C-section, she made her long awaited arrival.
After driving for 9 hours, arriving at 1:00 AM and sitting in the waiting room with her other grandmother all night, we welcomed her at 5:18 AM on Friday morning. I then spent the better part of 3 days just staring at her.
Here she is at one day old - I'm still just staring at her.
And here she is being held by her great grandfather, sleeping so peacefully.
I've got a few more (LOL!!) pictures, but this is it for today. She is perfect, my DDIL is feeling better every day and we are so blessed we were able to be there for this miracle.
Thanks for sharing in my joy,
-Karen

she's beautiful! Congrats...
She's beautiful! The room's beautiful! Congrats to all!
Oh, oh! I'm so-o happy for you! I'm sorry to hear about the emergency c-section though. The same thing happened with our daughter and our first grandchild. She lived in Australia at the time, so there wasn't even a nine hour drive we could make to see them! You are so fortunate to have been there. I'm very happy for you, and YOU look happy for you. Her room looks wonderful too. Bless you all.
Oh, she's just so precious and so beautiful. There's nothing better than a new grandbaby to love, is there? Enjoy.
Congratulations! She's beautiful! :0)
She's beautiful! Congrats!! Love the nursery too!
She is just beautiful..I know what you mean about "just staring". The fact that such a miracle is in your arms is the most amazing feeling in the world. Enjoy!! And as a fellow grandmother, you are entitled to spoil her in every way possible!!!
Congratulations!!! OMG, Karen, she's beautiful. And, her nursery is precious.
Ohhhhh......if there's anything cuter than a new-borned baby I don't know what it is! (OK a puppy with a freckled tummy is a pretty close second). Darling nursery for a darling little girl - I can see why you wanted to just sit and gaze at her!
How wonderful that both grandmas were at the hospital the day this little beauty was born. Her room is just as beautiful as she is.
Congratulations Karen! She is so beautiful. She has a great room waiting for her with cute quilt and decorations. I wish both "girls" great health and happiness.
She is so gorgeous, congratulations to everyone.
Her room looks wonderful too - I love the colours.
Congratulations Karen...she is precious!
What a blessing! She is adorable. Grandchildren are such a joy. DH's motto is "spoil them and give them back." Not that we would ever spoil them! LOL!
She's precious! Darling room too. Congratulations!
Congratulations Karen, she is beautiful. I too will be a Nana again in about 3 weeks...can't wait for Reed to be here.
She's precious! Congratulations! Looks like she's staring at you, too. She wanted to memorize your face so she'll know you the next time she sees you.
Congratulations, what a doll!
Karen, she is beautiful! Congratulations to the whole family!
She looks so sweet! I know you must have hated to leave her.
The room looks adorable, too. The quilt on the chair looks so cozy, and all the bedding and curtains are so pretty. You're such a good Nana. :-)
So precious, Karen! Hold her all you can!!

Hi there! I know you posted this almost a year ago but do you know the paint that was used? I just ordered kumari gardens fabric for my baby girl due in November & absolutely love the paint color you chose! :)
I found your post! She is gorgeous! What a special event and I am sure you were so excited in the 9 hour drive! The blankie you made for her is beautiful. I can see why y ou would just keep staring at this precious little bundle.
I have to add that I enjoyed my trip back through your blog to find this post!
