I finally have a chance to share with you "Tree Party". It was presented to my granddaughter in October in honor of her 6th birthday. It ended up having 6 animals (birds and owls), 6 flowers and 6 branches.
While I experimented with several new (to me) techniques, I was very pleased with the overall look of the quilt.
At first my granddaughter didn't quite know what to make of it.
But after explaining all the symbolism, I think she was pretty excited. And she found the kitty right away :)!
And she looked so cute all wrapped up in this "blanket of love".
This was my only animal with legs - LOL.
The final 6 was on the back, her label was a "6"!!

Owls have been really popular this past year. Showing up in fabric designs and quilts. The quilt is bigger than I thought at first glance. Such a nice birthday gift for a wonderful little girl.

Someday I hope to make quilts for my grandkids.

Love the photo of the birthday girl wrapped in her quilt!
This quilt turned out soooo cute!!!
Both your GD and quilt are adorable .... made for each other!
Your symbolism, plus the workmanship, plus the girly colors and fabrics created a quilt that just HAD to bring out that big, beautiful smile. The photo of you, the quilt, and your GD is the best!
It couldn't have turned out any better, Karen.
Looks like she loves her quilt! It's so cute. Miss Punkin is really growing!
