My wonderful quilt "Midnight at the Oasis " is done and ready for quilting. Yaaaay!! I've decided to use Perle cotton 8 like Jen Kingwell did in the original. I've never really done this before, any suggestions??
I'm excited to try something new.
Happy stitching,
Karen

It looks fabulous. Unfortunately, I don't have any experience with Perle cotton so no words of wisdom from me, but I'm sure that you will do a beautiful job on it. Looking forward to seeing more of it.
For needles, I use embroidery 3-9. For thimble, I use a hard metal one with little indentations to push the needle through. I also use a rubber thumb cover from the office supply store. You don't need to knot the thread. You can take 4-5 stitches through the top and batting in the opposite direction that you're going, then turn around and stitch through all three layers to secure the thread. I love big stitch and big thread quilting! Have fun!
Just have fun, it's going to be gorgeous!
I have big stitched with perle cotton. Can be a bit hard on the hands pulling through.
I agree with everything Nifty Quilts has already said. Neat trick about eliminating knots.
Have fun and enjoy the process
