I tried to resist, really I did....

I've participated in 2 of Bonnie Hunter's mystery quilts - Roll, Roll, Cotton Boll and Orca Bay.  Of course, neither one is quilted yet, but the tops are done - except for a border on Orca Bay.   And I was going to stay away this time, but the whole mystery of it just got to me - so Easy Street has begun.
So far, Step 1 - 71 blocks.  I already know I don't want to make it as big as hers, so I'm holding off for now.  Plus I have run out of a variety of white and black prints - so this is it for at least a week.
I went ahead and made my kitty block - love him :)!!  I don't have many of the colors she's using, so I'll be changing them.  I just need to see a little more before I decide what colors to use.  This morning's clue did not help me one bit!!  I know that's kind of cheating, what with it being a mystery and all...... but life is too short to end up making somethig you don't like!  I've been collecting grey, pink and red fabrics - so I'm thinking I'll probably lean that direction. I do like the grey blocks so far.
Have a great Friday!!

I want to make that quilt, but I just won't have the time for the next several months, so I am printing out the steps to work on later. Technically, it may be cheating, but since I hand quilt, it takes me too long to cut/piece/quilt to end up with something I don't like ... so I want to wait to see how it turns out before I commit to my colorway. ;-)

Yay for you for jumping in! I didn't because I never finished Roll, Roll Cotton Boll, and I refuse to begin another UFO. So I'm enjoying watching several bloggers who are participating. Your colors will be great! Hope you find you're getting to use up more of your (unwanted) stash.

It will fun to watch your project.
Her mysteries turn out great. I had one that sort of flopped, so I'm a little shy of them now.
Love the gray 4-patches.

One of the reasons I stay away from mystery quilts is that I have seen people come up with quilts they don't care for. Color placement would have been different has they known what they were making. One ended up with way more green in a quilt than she would have liked, for instance. But I do like most of the quilts I see from Bonnie's mysteries. I just haven't done one.

I like your header picture.

More power to you! I wish I could, but I have too many UFOs and I really want to get them finished. I may print out the instructions for later in case I really, really like it.

I don't care for mystery quilts because I've had a few flops and with the prices of fabrics it's sickening. The one thing about Bonnie's is you can trust her color choice will be pretty. Good luck...have fun!

Glad you joined in finally! I wanted to do some of her others, but with three kids, life just hasn't cooperated, but I jumped in on this one as I REALLY LOVE the colors! Can't go wrong if you like the colors...

I think your grey, pink and red would look pretty. Can't wait to see what else you do with it.
