From the pictures I've seen of the finished quilt, the border changes the whole look of this. I haven't decided which green I'll use for the inner border - I'll wait until the whole border is pieced and see how much pizzaz it needs.
I love working with pink and brown so I'm looking forward to piecing the border. I really can't believe the blocks are all done!! I love looking at the pictures! This quilt is going to be bigger than I normally make - and I'm only doing 20 blocks. I can't even imagine how big it would be at 30. Bonnie definitely likes bigger quilts than I do!!
And I am happy to report that so far....... this quilt is 100% FREE!! It's very exciting to know that I can create something so pretty just from my scrap basket and my stash. Of course, that may mean I have too much fabric. Let's hope my DH doesn't read this :).
Have a great day,
-Karen

ha!! had a super laugh about the stash--i, too, have WAY lots of fabric, and just about to finish a quilt that's all stash. yours is just lovely--those blocks are fantastic. nice job. have a great day (is that for the blogger's quilt festival?)
There is a lot of work in that pieced border but it sure adds to the quilt.
Fabulous! Since it was made for free I think you deserve to shop for some new fabric, right?
This is looking so pretty, Karen. I am going to forward your post to another blog friend who is working on the same quilt. I love your new profile picture, too
Carla linked me to your blog post and I'm glad I came for a visit! You are at exactly the same place in your RRCB quilt as I am in mine. I'm getting ready to blog about it too! I agree that it's a large quilt, and one I would never have made (especially beginning in December, of all months!), but I was intrigued by the idea of using up fabric. Admittedly, the red wasn't in my stash (I didn't have enough of ONE red) but it was definitely wonderful to use up so much fabric. Do you believe your fabric has reproduced, in the meantime? Keep up the great work. As for me, I'm taking a hiatus from it to work on more free motion quilting.
(Snoopy &) I are dancing with you! It's a beautiful accomplishment, all with those scraps (& i won't tell your honey, either)
:-}pokey
It's a beauty Karen! Well Done and you were fast!
Fantastic! I'm dancing with you. Love the border.
