Almost Ready to Start

After my crazy but wonderful summer, I am ready to start this!!  After meeting Jen Kingwell in June and seeing her quilts in person, I was smitten with Midnight at the Oasis.  Imagine my joy when I found a Quiltalong for Jen's quilts that is just starting.  Juliann over at "Lining Up My Stitches" is heading the QAL.  (I'm using Blogger and I can't figure out how to add a link.  Anybody know how to do that?).

Jen is so delightful and I am excited to start this quilt.
I have not decided on my background fabric yet, but I'm gathering my other fabric.  I actually made some petals for one of the borders.
This quilt is going to be way outside my normal fabrics, but I'm excited to be stretching myself.
This is one of the pictures I took of Jen's quilt.  I can't wait!!
Happy stitching.

This is going to be FUN! BTW, to add a link using Blogger, highlight the word(s) that you want to link, click on 'Link' in the menu that runs across the top of your post and it will open a window where you paste the link that you want to link to. Hope that makes sense.

This does look like a project filled with fabrics I haven't seen you work with. But seeing the actual project and meeting the designer--what better incentive to take that leap to work with something different. I'm sure you'll enjoy every step making this beautiful quilt. I'll be watching and cheering you on.

What a joy that you got to meet Jen! I just recently ordered her book "Quilt Lovely" and I plan to make the quilt "Daisy Do", only one problem, its all hand piecing so it may take a while! Right now I am collecting fabrics.
I love the fabric choices you are starting with for those petals, do you plan to use a gray polka dot too?
How do you make your petals? Does she tell you in the pattern?
I will go check out the QAL too.

It's good to have a challenge! That's the way I feel about Dear Jane. The Midnight quilt looks awesome!
