Some Texture for Pink Pickles

Just a quick update.  I have finally quit procrastinating on how I'm going to quilt Pink Pickles and yesterday I just started!
I'm not sure that looking at all the wonderful blogs by long armers and their incredible quilting is helping me.  The truth is I will never accomplish what they do and I don't want to feel frustrated.  Quilting on a domestic is so different than quilting on a long arm and I have to remember that.
But I'm not whining, because I am doing something. It's not perfect, but this quilt will be done - and it will be done by me!
And I know I will have learned something and maybe I'll be a little better.
I think when it's all done, I'm going to be very happy with the end result.
I'm off to work so no quilting today.
Have a great one,
Karen

This looks lovely! What have you done in the middle of the pickle? It is very pretty. Keep us posted as many of us are also where you are as far as quilting with a domestic machine and not a longarm. Looking forward to seeing more. K-

I love what you are doing with the quilting - that really adds depth and interest to the design - brilliant! Will be so satisfying to do it yourself.

Wow, I think it looks great! I'm afraid to begin quilting anything large on my machine! Longarm quilting sites are showing beautiful quilting but we all can't send everything out to a longarmer....

This is beautiful. I so admire those who quilt on a domestic machine. Well done.

It looks wonderful! DH likes it too. I was busy quilting my GD's quilt, but was having trouble with my machine so I had to take it in for some service. My quilting is at a standstill for about a week! I decided to make a purse - the Featherweight can handle that.

Your quilting looks great! I think you should be pleased. This pickle dish lokks great with this design.
I still want to get tickets on the Vintage Blooms quilt. I could have gotten Faye to get them for me last week, but she said yall were doing a craft show, I had no idea you had the quilt there.
If you will email me the address, I will send you money for tickets.

Hi Karen, I am so happy to have found your lovely blog. I have been retired now for three years and recently I've been fallen in love with sewing all over again. At the moment I am making my first quilt and planning in making another before Christmas. I have two sweet little granddaughters and these will be their Christmas gifts. I love finding quilters and learning from your blogs. Please visit and if you have any suggestions for me along my artful journey, please feel free to pass on your wisdom.

Wow! I love this, Karen! It DOES look like longarm quilting, and that's what us FMQers strive for, isn't it? I don't think it's impossible to achieve that look on a domestic machine. This looks fabulous!
