Angels watching over me

My Joy Angels are done and mounted over the picture in the dining room. My idea to make a rod pocket on the back and hang it directly over the picture frame worked well enough that I am very pleased. I'm not too picky, it just has to pass my expectation :).
Of course my camera never quite gets the color right, but with the lights dimmed, it really looks so soft and homey.

I am so glad I added the berries - they didn't take that long and they added just the punch of red I needed to balance things out.

In my last post, I mentioned changes for us. I found out last week that I am being let go from my job. I have been so happy and have been there almost 18 years. I am only 2 years away from retirement. I think I'm still in shock, but trying to figure out things day by day. The one thing I do know, is that I believe that God has a wonderful plan for my life and this journey is part of it. It's kind of amazing to me to know that weeks ago, when I felt "prompted" to make this angel wall hanging (after having the book for 15 years), I would have a tangible reminder hanging on my wall, that God indeed does have His angels watching over me.
We are all blessed and this season is a perfect time to be reminded of that again.

Until next time,

-Karen

Oh I love those angels, it looks fabulous. so sorry about your job, but just think of all the sewing time you will have now! I retired when I was 50 and have never looked back, okay money is short but my quality of life is so much better. Good luck x

Your angles are beautiful. God definitely has plans for us, I never wanted to be a stay at home mom and that is what I have done for the past 3 1/2 years.

Gosh what an unfortunate situation. May you find a new and happy path. Your angels might be instrumental in that. :o)

The quilt is darling.
Sorry for your work woes. I'm sure it will work out-you have your priorities right so how can it not?
Sending a hug and a prayer to help with the shock.

Your angels turned out so nice. I'm sorry about your job. I had the same thing happen once right before Christmas. Not sure if it was nice, or naughty, to do it then - before too much Christmas shopping was done. Good luck to you!

Your angels are perfect! I know you weren't expecting a change like this at this point in your life, but I'm really hoping it's a blessing in disguise.

Your angels are wonderful ... and the berries are a perfect addition.

Sorry to hear that you've lost your job. It is such a shock, isn't it? I lost a job twice in a 9-month period of time. Will this move up your retirement or will you look for other employment? Praying that God will direct you during this uncertain time. {{hug}}

Your angel quilt looks gorgeous and fabulous on your wall. What a big change coming up for you, I hope it means a better door opens up but it's sad after all the years there.

Your angels will surely come up with a new plan for you - perhaps they are thinking it will give you more quilting time?

I love your angel quilt! It looks wonderful on your wall. I'm so sorry about your job situation, but as others pointed out, more time for sewing! Maybe you can find a job for the 2 years you have left. If not, as you said, God has other plans for you!

Your angels turned out lovely and look beatific watching over you from the wall! My condolences on the job situation; I have every confidence a new opportunity will present itself! I'm right there with you - my current job ends this coming April, although they could cut me loose at any time. I just turn to quilting to keep my spirits up!

Your Angels looks fabulous on those beautiful red walls! Stunning.
Sometimes God closes the door, but opens a window - good luck in whatever you do.

After 18 years???? Were they downsizing? I'm sorry to hear that but perhaps a blessing in disguise and you just don't know what that is just yet? Looks to me like much more time for playing!!

Karen, enjoy your extra time even though it wasn't planned. I'm sure this will be one of those things that, in reverse, make a lot more sense than it is right now.
I'll be saying a prayer for wisdom in your next "chapter". Keep looking up!

Congratulations on your job loss. God must have something really great in mind for you. When one door closes, another opens and something wonderful awaits...see you tomorrow!
