Can you help me name this block?

Does anyone know the name of this block? Or how it's constructed. I should know this, but I think my brain is tired LOL!! I looked on EQ7 and didn't find it exactly.
Thanks for your help..... I'm helping another friend who's going to be a first time grandmother. She has already bought a jelly roll and a charm pack of Pure and she's fallen in love with this pattern.
Until next time,
Karen

I don't know the name ... but I love it!!!! It looks like a HST surrounded by "logs" and sewn into the diagonal rows. At least, if I were going to make one from the picture, that's how I'd sew it. ;-) Not much help, I know. If you find out the answer, I hope you share it because I LOVE that pattern and have dreams of making a quilt using it myself!

I don't know the name either, but take a charm square and surround it with jelly roll strips. (2 rounds) Then cut the square on the diagonal and re-sew.

I've been trying to figure out a name for your quilt. First I was thinking of tile type names then I found something on google when searching that I thought I would run by you. Jewel Box. That's my idea. Beautiful fabrics, love your quilt.

Hi Karen! I immediately checked my go-to book for quilt block names: "Encyclopedia of Pieced Quilt Patterns" by Barbara Brackman. Unfortunately, this block isn't among those shown. The closest I could find is called... Log Cabin (duh). Sorry I can't be more help. It's a nice-looking block, in any case.

I don't know what it's called, but I have something very similar that I drew up in EQ for a future project. I know that's no help at all, but it does look great in those fabrics.

If I was to make this block I would make it 1/2 units and sew it together.
so say the block on the bottom cut a browns square in 1/2 for the center
then sew a blue strip to each of the sides
then a light strip to each of the sides
repeat for the other side then sew the 2 units together
do you want me to draw it out for you?
If you do it in 2 units just think it will be easier then having to miter each of the corners it will be done for you! just email me if you need instruction
