I can almost see the finish line

My borders are done and aren't they beautiful?? These went together so fast and easy. Cutting was easy, piecing was easy, pressing was easy. Let's hope the actual attachment to the quilt is that easy. I have decided that of all the steps of quiltmaking, sewing the blocks together in the body of the quilt is probably my least favorite part. But now that it's done, I'm so happy. After squaring up the string blocks, these did fit together perfectly. Again, kudos to Bonnie Hunter for great directions.

So this is the last time you'll see this all in pieces. I'm determined to finish this top and then think about quilting it. I've got several tops that need to be quilted (including my glow in the dark pineapple quilt)!! Plus, I've got to start hand quilting my quilt for our Guild's quilt show next spring. I promised my DH I wouldn't wait until the last minute and do nothing but quilt for 8 weeks straight!!!

Until next time,
-Karen

I'm enjoying watching you and Linda work on your BH Mystery quilts. They look so different, but alike..you know what I mean...love them both! You and I are alike in our not caring as much for sewing the blocks together..that's my least favorite thing, as well! It seems tedious somehow, I guess. Glad to know that I'm not alone!

I really love this design of Bonnie Hunters. The more I see it on other blogs, the higher up it moves on my quilt wishlist.

I too, don't really care for the process of assembling blocks into a quilt top. Especially if they are a design that requires things to stay in a particular order, where I have it all layed out and have to pick up two pieces at a time to preserve the layout. And all the tugging and pulling of the increasing top is daunting and frustrating. But the finished product is gorgeous and yours is no exception. I look forward to seeing it quilted.

This is going to be a stunner, Karen. Lovely fabric selection by you and a wonderful design from Bonnie.
I promise one of these days to jump in on one of her mysteries from the start, rather than waiting to see how it turns out. That defeats the fun of a mystery quilt.
I'm guessing the borders will fit!
