Office Art

This is the first of many of these "office quilt" posts. I work in a law firm and have a big blank wall in my office. I was fortunate to get permission to hang my quilts. Since I spend many more hours in my office than I do at home, it's been fun for me to enjoy my quilts. Other people in my office have also enjoyed them over the years. I change out the quilts seasonally or as the spirit moves me. It's not often that as quilters we have quilts made and given to us. This quilt was made by my friend Kim and given to me for my 50th birthday several (several) years ago. It is a treasure to me.

Until next time,
Karen

What a wonderful gift of friendship. I agree, when I worked full time I would have much preferred quilts and things I loved around me since I was spending 8 to 10 hours a day there! So many places don't let you have personal things...glad you do and they are happy things like the beautiful quilt!!

I always love seeing your quilts on "the wall." They really add a lot of charm to that space.

Whenever I see this quilt, I think of Lila -- she thought it was hers!

Oh, I love this gift of friendship. I'm sure it's one you'll always treasure.

I think it's fabulous that you can share quilting works of art in your office.

I just came from Magnolia Bay Quilts. Every blank wall needs a quilt. What a fantastic quilt of angels. I think my favorite is the "fallen" angel. :o) Hope you enjoy blogging.

Hi Karen,
I am here via Kim. Welcome to blogland. Hope you have a great time with it and makes lots of new friends.
Your angel quilt is so sweet and it is so nice you can admire it from your desk.
I see you live in the panhandle. I used to live in Panama City but NC is home now.

I found you through Magnolia Bay Quilts. You do such beautiful work! How fun that your employer allows you to hang your quilts. I wish more offices did this as quilts have such a wonderful appeal about them when they're used as decor. I look forward to getting to know you through your blog! Cindy

Unusual that some of the angels are turned different directions. It gives a very whimsical look to a prim style quilt. I never could have hung a quilt in my office when I worked. It would have had to be flame retardent to be allowed.
